Red Hot Chili Peppers "Suck My Kiss" guitar lesson. Today we're using the CMAT Mods Brownie overdrive and Boss RT-20 Rotary Ensemble to emulate the multi amp setup used by John Frusciante in the studio. Thanks to the recently available isolated guitar track from "Suck My Kiss", you can clearly hear the bass rotor filling the low end of the main riff while chords explode with an organ like vibrato. A key part of the main riff is an aggressive attack while not letting the open D and G strings overpower the fretted Bb. The verse employs a tasty hammer on/ pull off combo and some Hendrix style chords that walk up the fretboard as the Leslie sound spins away! The chorus also uses a simplified G chord (fret just the top 2) to allow the quick changes between G and D. Enjoy your riff of the day guitar lesson!
