OK, let's see. "Some Like It Hot". "Let's Dance". "Out of Touch". "Alive And Kicking". "In The Air Tonight". What's the common quality here, folks? Gated Reverb. Yep, love it or hate it, it was a sound that helped sell TONS of records a couple of decades ago. Now Catalinbread have bottled it and popped it into a pedal that they call the CBX Gated Reverb. And it's a lot of fun! You can set the reverb-clamp threshold with the Gate knob, determine the length of time between the end of your note and Gate with the Lag control, overdrive the whole lot with the Preamp knob or mix out all of the dry signal with the Mix control. Stick it before some dirt for some wild texture fun or put some dirt before it for much the same thing. Shut the gate!
