The release of the ES-339 marked a moment when many guitar players' dreams were answered. Players of all genres loved and praised the versatile tones and chic look of the ES-335 but some players just found it too large to get on with. Gibson listened and now we have the ES-339: a full scale ES guitar but with the body size of a Les Paul. It's really as simple as that: the shape is the same but shrunken; the features like f-holes are there, it's a 335 with a slightly smaller frame. This one is finished in Drab Green and has been treated to the VOS process to add a further patina of light ageing to the guitar, increasing it's vibe and beauty.

This compact semi has the same Grover tuners and PAF-style MHS humbuckers of its larger brother. Construction is layered maple/poplar/maple with a maple centre block. This reduces feedback and allows the guitar to sound more focused in the midrange. There are even 1960s-style mini block inlays on the fretboard! For those players who love the sonics of the ES-335, worry not: they have not been compromised! The smaller body size retains much of the character of it's larger brethren so if you were looking for a more compact answer to the ES range, you have found the answer to your prayers.
