Falling somewhere between the '59 and '65 Sets in terms of output, the '63 Set is a classic A5, Elektrisola Formvar wire affair at around the 6K mark. The bridge pickup sports a steel baseplate as well, just to round off a little of the spike that can be a characteristic of pickups like these. They have enough push to drive classic amps like Marshalls but are still polite enough to give us that super-clean Stratty tone that I love. Ben and Joe at JJ's offer them individually or in the loaded guard of your choice, like this one. This set will be staying put in this guitar, for sure. Love 'em!
