Check out this rare PRS Dragon III guitar from 1994, number 55 in the series. A true collector's item for any Paul Reed Smith fan!
This is my PRS Dragon III from 1994. This one is pristine and it should be. It had never been played - shown here.
There was no certificate because he told me that they had a policy of not giving out a certificate if you were an employee and bought a guitar off the company.
He did go on when he left PRS to work in some very large music industry companies and I believe what he said because when you look at the guitar it is very clear its never been played - there is not a single mark on it.
It cost a lot of money, but it really is an awesome guitar - and it appears to have an option of maple top that would have cost more money if you had been a retail buyer.
The top is in my view a perfectly matched top and is in keeping with what Paul Reed Smith calls 'Private Stock' these days. Of course that's a great marketing idea and one which many guys get caught up in and pay the extra money - but as you can see from the pictures, you really would have a hard time in justifying actually paying more to get a 'better' and more perfectly matched top than on this PRS Dragon III. PRS have some great hype about storing wood from Paul's 'Private Stash' and that stinks a bit like any great marketing ploy.
The guitar is still in its original outer cardboard box which is protected inside a Gibson cardboard box. Inside that is the leather case and inside that is a PRS Dragon III leather strap and all the extras along with this guitar.
It is a collectors dream if ever there was one and most of you will know that the Dragon III had more pieces in the dragon inlay than any of the other Dragon series guitars.
The PRS signature is actually solid gold on this guitar.
Anyway that's enough from me - take a look at the pics - I uploaded in HD so you can really see the quality of this instrument. Pity Paul never replied to my three page document I wrote to him - but that's customer service PRS Style. Paul Smith has seemed more arrogant when you're face to face with him. I was making a video for my channel, and he actually smacked the camera away... not really very friendly particularly when I like PRS equipment. Maybe his investors were on his back - who knows.
By the way, I did eventually sell this guitar years later because I could not bring myself to play it. It was and is a serious collectors guitar. Tony McKenzie.
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE AND RING THE BELL. And if you like the video then thumbs up! Thanks - its always appreciated and I won't bombard you with reviews!
