Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today we're getting lost in the MDT6 by Dedalo FX. The Maquina Del Tiempo or Time Machine gives you two individual delay lines run in series, for a combined total of 1200ms. The goal of the MDT6 is to emulate the sound of a double-headed tape delay, and it delivers by using 2 cascading chips to create rhythmic pulses of delay across any one of several tap tempo subdivisions. The pedal contains individual mix controls for each delay chip, as well as global time and repeats controls, which are extremely interactive with one another. The repeats control is fully capable of entering self-oscillation when jacked up, which lends a distinct rhythmic flavor to the sound when both mix knobs are increased. The Mod/Subdivision knob is dual purpose, letting you dial in anything from the subtle wobble of a gentle used tape reel to the violent seasickness of a tape delay barely held together. Holding down the tap footswitch for five seconds turns the same knob into a subdivisions control, which contains several timesplitting options from standard quarter-note and dotted eighth up through specialty settings such as fifths and the golden ratio. The tap footswitch also allows for hands-free control of the feedback for highly expressive blasts of repeats. And just like all Dedalo effects, the MDT6 is made by hand in Argentina.
