It's been nearly seven years since our last run of Brazilian imbuia limited editions - a testament to the procurement challenge this exotic tonewood represents. The quality of this imbuia is among the finest we've seen, bursting with striking, dark variegation and complex figure. Figured Hawaiian koa binding dramatically accents the body, neck and peghead, while a matching koa mini wedge bisects the bookmatched back panels. Tonally, imbuia's hardness and density yield a tight, crisp, responsive tone, with nice sustain and plenty of low-end "thump". .
