We stopped by the Dunlop booth at NAMM 2020 to take a closer look and listen at the MXR Timmy Overdrive and MXR Octavio Fuzz effects pedals.
The Timmy has been revered for some time as a boutique pedal. Its builder Paul Cochrane chose to work with MXR to bring its sound to a wider audience. To control the overdrive, the Clip switch has three different clipping styles from — big and bold to compressed and saturated — and the Bass and Treble knobs further shape your tone. All of this fits inside the MXR mini housing.
The MXR Octavio Fuzz is available for the first time in the standard MXR chassis. This unique harmonic doubler + fuzz was made popular by Hendrix with its squealing square-wave sound. Simple controls set Output and Fuzz to your desired volume and intensity, as the Octavio Fuzz reacts to your playing dynamics.
