So you think that the Roland Boss WAZA Craft amp is not good? Be in for a shock as I show the inside & out and play the amp over three audio tracks. This is the best review and probably one of the only genuine independent reviews you will see of the Waza Craft Amplifier from Roland Boss. The amp was purchased by me specifically for the review with absolutely no input from Roland, Boss or any dealer.
Here is a complete rundown of everything you have never seen about this amplifier. For the first time, this amp without tubes is revealed, and I am sure that many 'tube amp' guys will 'knock' it. But wait! The Waza Craft amp IS different.
Roland Boss spent millions of dollars in R&D to arrive at this result and I wanted to really see what this amp could produce for any guitarist. Does it really sound like a tube amp? is it really 150 watts of unadulterated power? Can this amp power two 16 Ohm cabs at once flat out? What's the internal quality like? is the asking price over the top? can this Waza Craft amplifier actually be a better choice than the plethora of simulated tube amps like the Helix, Axe-FX, GT-1000, Katana... well you name them. You're going to find out in this review once and for all.
And how did Roland Boss create the ultimate result? You need to sit back, relax and watch the best in depth review you will ever see on this great amp from Roland Boss.
Lastly, ask yourself a serious question... and post the results below: 'Can you really justify a cost of £2300.00 (or USA equivalent) spend for what is basically a transistor amplifier?
I bought this amplifier (and later a 2x12 Waza Speaker Cab) from http://www.soundaffects.com at the exact same price that you could! So go and check the price out with them, I found them to be the cheapest in the UK.
Although the Waza Craft amplifier 'simulates' a tube amplifier, it does so in a very different way than products from Line6, Fractal Audio, other Roland products like the Katana and any of the other so called 'hot' tube amp simulators on the market. Roland Boss created results of specific tube amp circuitry with discrete components rather than software and the results are far different than you might imagine.
One main advantage is that there is no continuous updating of software which can be very frustrating to many players. Then what do you have on software based simulators? You have far more artificial results that is often hidden by effects designed to mask the real tones and truth about those simulations. This Waza Craft Amplifier has none of that! Plug in, turn on and you're ready to go.
