An acoustic kit can give the power and volume needed for a gig—but can only provide one set of sounds. In pop music, a lot of time is spent creating specific sounds for a track. What’s more, when the audience watches the artist perform those tracks on the live stage, they expect to hear the songs and the same sounds as they appear on the album.

Hybrid drumming combines technology with acoustic drums so you can reinforce and complement your acoustic drum sound by adding electronic sounds. More drum sounds, improved sound quality, higher production values for your performance—with hybrid... the possibilities are endless.

Professional drummer Oli Wiseman, touring with Anne-Marie, needs to perform live with the exact same drum sounds as recorded by the artist. By adding Roland pads and drum modules to his acoustic drums, Oli is able to expand the range of sounds available to use and play the original samples from the record. Roland had all access to the pre-production tour rehearsals, where Oli explains how he’s using a Roland Hybrid Drums setup, and which products he’s using.
