I've owned 4 Gibson guitars over the years. Each of them either had unforeseen issues or they simply sounded bad. The only great Gibson I owned was a Custom Shop 56 VOS which was perfect. The Gibson studio guitars all had their issues. My theory is because I am left handed I wonder if Gibson actually have a left handed player on their production line to test their guitars. The 2009 ES-335 was awful tone wise. I made the mistake of getting rid of a great sounding and great playing Epiphone to get a Gibson. I won't be making that mistake again. Not all Gibson guitars are bad but my strike rate is 2 good Gibson vs 3 not so good Gibson's. The other guitar I had no problem with from Gibson was a left handed Flying V.
