I discuss some mods for my new 5F2A Tweed Princeton housed in an Epiphone Valve Jr. A tone clip will follow shortly. Most of these could also easily apply to a 5F1 Champ.
- Swapping the 25 uf / 25 v capacitor for a lower value, possible 1 uf or 10 uf. The lower the value the tighter the bass should be.
- Inserting a SPDT switch to keep the stock negative feedback wire running from the 22k resistor to the speaker output jack or to remove it. Removing the negative feedback will increase gain.
- Using a DPDT switch to allow switching between 4 ohm or 8 ohm speaker output impedance.
