Named after a skateboard move from an ‘80s skate film, Los Angeles band Nightmare Air emphasizes sonic momentum live and in the studio. Dave Dupuis and Swaan Miller meticulously layer boy-girl harmonies, pulsing pop synths, psych noise loops, and glam-soaked walls of guitars. The group is rounded out by Liza Stegall on keys and Detroit heavy hitter Jimmy Lucido on drums, two road veterans who have supported heavyweights from Smashing Pumpkins to the The Jesus and Mary Chain.
Headlining clubs and playing festivals around the world, Nightmare Air has shared stages with The Kills, The Dandy Warhols, Teenage Fanclub, Cat Power, The Black Lips, The Soft Moon, No Age, The Wedding Present, No Age, The Buzzcocks, Ringo Deathstarr, Fishbone, The Cult, and many more. They’re currently completing their second studio album, and will take their expanding wall of sound around the US to select shows and festivals. Starting in August 2017, the band will be playing a residency at The Satellite, a world-famous Los Angeles venue.
