Welcome to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today we’re getting tubular with the Radical Delay II Plus, by Alexander Pedals. The Radical Delay II is a digital delay machine that warps space and time to bring you three classic delay algorithms from vintage rack units. The Radical Delay II earns its “Plus” name by introducing a tap tempo mode that is accessible by holding down the bypass footswitch, as well as a remote jack for an external tap source. The Time, Repeat and Mix knobs are global controls, with the Tweak knob operating a specific function based on which mode is selected. Mod mode is a pristine digital delay with the Tweak control at dead center. When turned left, the Tweak control introduces a lush chorus to the repeats, and turned to the right, a thick vibrato envelops the repeats. In Glitch mode, the Tweak control adds a army of haunting digital ghosts that are out to mangle your signal. Bend mode is based on the earliest pitch shifting technology and shifts each sequential repeat higher or lower in ascending or descending pitches with a hint of detuning. In all three modes, turning the Time knob to zero imparts just the Tweak effect with no delay, turning the Radical Delay II into a versatile modulation box. Try turning the Time knob to zero in Mod mode for a lush rack chorus or seasick pitch vibrato, or in Glitch mode for bitcrushing and synthesizer effects. And just like all Alexander Pedals, the Radical Delay II is built here in the states by people doing good things.
