1964 was a busy year for music... The Beatles had the top 5 slots of the Top 40, Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman" entered the world, The Rolling Stones released both "The Rolling Stones" album and "12 X 5", The Supremes gave us "Where Did Our Love Go", the beloved Jimi Hendrix was getting going with Isley Brothers and Little Richard, and so much more but most importantly for US... this beautiful Custom Color Black Stratocaster was built. We don't often see them in such good shape as this, and this one is completely original down to the frets. A trio of strong and excellent sounding pickups on a mint green pickguard, the excellent black finish, and they were still doing veneer Brazilian Rosewood boards in this era. It is quite an incredible instrument as you'll hear in the demo by our friend Henry James of Robert Jon and the Wreck, in which he'll be playing this guitar through a brand new Carr Skylark amp!
