Legendary guitarist Johnny Marr believes that modding a guitar is a combination of personalization and pursuit for the right performance. That was definitely the approach he took to creating his signature Fender Jaguar model, which includes a special four-way black pickup switch rather than the traditional slide switches, plus special nylon-bridge post inserts for improved bridge stability and a "taller" tremolo arm.

"Customizing it and changing a few things around was a combination of pragmatism and trying to make it more technically efficient, particularly with the Jaguar," he said. "And, good old fashion pimping it out really."
