This is the Carr Artemus, a 2x12, EL84-based combo designed around British Ac-style circuits from the 60's. Carr uses this classic circuit as a foundation for the Artemus, adding improvements like the 12ax7 cascode input stage, which emulates the legendary tone of the Ef86 pentode, but without that tube's microphonics and reliability issues. Switchable 30 or 15 watt operation lets you get more clean headroom when you need it, or more sweet, chunky tube saturation at moderate volumes. The minimalist control panel includes Edge and Mid Toggle switches, useful for boosting the high end or gently scooping the midrange for a 60's American-type voicing, deftly combining tonal versatility with plug-n-play simplicity. And the Artemus also gets along beautifully with pedals, thanks in part to the pristine tone and high power handling capabilities of its dual Eminence Red White and Blues speakers. The Carr Artemus is built by hand in Pittsboro, North Carolina.
