Joining us in the AG studios is the wonderful singer, songwriter, and guitarist Doug Paisley, who brought along a rare left-handed '50s-vintage Martin D-28.
With a style that mixes elements of '70s folk with bluegrass flatpicking, the Canadian musician calls to mind legends like Norman Blake and Tony Rice. With a deft touch on guitar and a catalog full of deeply moving, heartfelt original songs, Paisley has certainly become an artist to watch. In addition, his thoughtful, engaging demeanor makes him a rather compelling interview subject. Watch him run through a couple of his most memorable songs and discuss a range of topics, including his earliest musical projects, working with Garth Hudson, his aversion to pickups, and the challenges that lefties face in finding gear they love.
