Fox River Devices Autumn (Seasonal Drive Series)

Today we bring you an in-depth look at the first in the Seasonal Drive Series from Fox River Devices: Autumn.

Inspired by the changing landscape in the upper Midwest that can only be described as magical during this time of year, Autumn is a guitar pedal designed to create a plethora of rich harmonics and a variety of tones. Much like the season that shares its name, this pedal is capable of turning from warm, open and subtle to dark, heavy, and crisp depending on where the knobs are set.

This is an asymmetrical hard clipping circuit that uses red, yellow, green, and orange LEDs. At high gain you can even hear some subtle harmonics from FET clipping. The EQ of this pedal is low/mid ranged focused with a frequency hump around 700 Hz to 1 kHz depending on settings. The circuit is designed in a way where tone will darken as gain is increased. Overall, this pedal would be classified as a medium to high gain circuit capable of producing approximately 55 dB at max gain.

Autumn pairs well with dark sounding amps, guitars and speaker cabinets. In addition, it can be used to “warm up” a somewhat cleaner and brighter tone. Consider using this pedal to create some colorful psych-rock tones or grab your favorite down tuned guitar, baritone, or 8-string for some thick sludgy tones.
