The G&L USA MJ-4 features a tobacco sunburst finish over an alder body. The modern medium C neck is maple, and it features a maple fretboard with 21 medium jumbo frets and abalone dot inlays. Electronically, this bass is the perfect fusion of vintage and modern. It's decked out with two of G&L's bi-coil alnico V pickups, which are an updated version of the tried and true single coil alnico design. Each pickup features two side-by-side coils configured in series-humbucking mode. These are wired up to G&L's 18 volt, studio quality M-spec preamp and control system, which has controls for volume, pan and +/- 14dB 3-band EQ with center detents. This innovative setup can provide great classic single coil tone, but it also offers another world of more modern sounds to tinker with. Other great features include a G&L Saddle Lock Bridge with chrome plated brass saddles, custom "Ultra Lite" tuners and a bone nut.
