Early on a Summer Saturday morning in Nashville we descend into a basement with Blair White and Andy Pitcher. On the way there the car service driver laments all along the reasons he doesn’t like Nashville. He yells at someone on a longboard for long boarding through a red light but the windows were up.
He is kind of a bummer.
We show up the shoot 20 minutes early and it being a Saturday morning we elect to go grab some coffees instead of knocking on the door early. Car service guy is not into it but agrees to drop us off. I find out on the way to the nearby coffee spot that he was born in and spent the majority of his lived life in Tulsa. He seems a bit remiss for not agreeing to wait for us while we got the coffees after learning of our domestic connection.
We pick up some coffees and wait for the next car service driver.
The next car service driver tells us all about interesting East Nashville history and just as we pull back up to the shoot location we learned that they’d been stationed at Fort Sill in Oklahoma back in the 1980s.
It was a morning of exquisite interactions.
