This is the "I AM" offset, a handmade instrument from Lodi, California's Banning Guitars. The I AM's unique construction is based around a chambered alder body with a highly resonant spruce top, a combination that endows this guitar with both the warm, vibrant acoustic qualities of a hollowbody, and the punch and feedback resistance of a solidbody. The pickup set, consisting of a Porter Pickups A-90 in the neck and a Filtertron in the bridge position, compliments the distinctive voice of this instrument perfectly, with tones that can go from meaty, to jangly, to rock 'n' roll grind with ease. The neck of the I AM offset is a gorgeous three-piece, figured maple, Modern C shape, mated to a 12" radius rosewood fretboard that features 6105 frets and silver sparkle "candy" inlays. Other features include a smooth Bigsby B-11 vibrato, Sperzel locking tuners, a striking black and silver-fleck finish, and matching silver sparkle pickguard, head cap, and truss rod cover. Like all Banning Guitars, the I AM offset is available in a variety of finishes, and each one is made by hand at Banning's custom shop in Northern California. ​
