Welcome to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com.Today, Andy gets a look at the Dyno My Roto by Keeley Electronics. The Dyno My Roto pays tribute to the classic Dytronics CS-5 rack chorus. The CS-5 and Dyno My Roto both feature an impossibly lush studio-quality triple chorus effect that was used on countless records in the 1980s. This sound consists of a three-dimensional chorus tone that has yet to be replicated until now. The Dyno My Roto breaks new ground in the tri-chorus arena by adding a Texture knob, which changes the modulation waveform to sine wave, square wave or triangle wave and anything in between. The Dyno My Roto doesn't stop there, giving you two other modes to satisfy your inner tweaker. The Rotary mode gives you authentic rotating speaker sounds without having to schlep a Leslie cabinet everywhere, and the Texture control adds yet another dimension to the sound. In this mode, the Texture control adjusts the distance of the microphone from the cabinet in this virtual Leslie setup. Lower Texture settings give your tone room to breathe, with more open, roomier sounds while cranking the Texture approximates a tremolo with the microphone inches from the cabinet. The final mode is Rotoflange, which gives you a sweet-sounding flanger featuring a classic negative feedback sound for that "other" '80s modulation tone. Turning the Texture knob to the right introduces feedback, which increases the resonance and volatility of the flanger. Keeley has also included a Level control to combat any perceived volume loss. And like all Keeley pedals, the Dyno My Roto is made by Robert's team of minions right here in the USA.
