Bruce, thank you for coming to demonstrate for us! He plays beautifully.
This 1990 Model A Drawing Room Grand is a stunning 6' 1" hand crafted Classic Victorian cabinet style grand piano finished in hand rubbed stain lacquer finish that showcases the ribbon Mahogany beautifully. It features 88 keys, ice cream cone style legs and a hand carved lyre and music rack.
This piano started its life being hand crafted at the Steinway factory in New York. It was shipped to B. Dreher Piano Company of Cleveland on October 26, 1900 and from there made its way to Brunner Minor Seminary, a school devoted to preparing young men for the priesthood, in Canton, Ohio. The school and property were sold in 1989 to what is now the Glenmoor Country Club. That is where the previous owner acquired it and stored it until sending it to Dusenberg of Cleveland for restoration in 1995-1996. At that time, the finish, sound board, strings and pin block were restored. There is evidence of sound board cracks that were repaired when the restoration was done. The keys remain original - which is a rare and wonderful treasure - all original keys on a 1900 piano!
There is no buzzing and no strange ovetones. The piano comes with wood caster cups.
The Model A was one of Steinway's most popular parlor grand piano models of the era, was a favorite of both fine home musicians and professional pianists, and is still one of the most desired vintage Steinway pianos. The Model A is known for delivering a “grand” sound, offering power and warmth in a medium-scale instrument.
