Hey it's Andy with ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today we're shifting into high gear with the Stone Deaf Warp Drive. The Warp Drive is a high gain distortion monster housed within the architecture of Stone Deaf's proprietary paracentric filter. This filtering matrix lends an unbelievably powerful level of control over your tone by letting you dial in everything from subtle frequency boosts to mix-penetrating cocked wah tones with a few simple adjustments. The Bandwidth knob is actually a six-position switch that cycles through Q width settings. Within the Bandwidth, you can use the Cut/Boost, Balance and Frequency knobs to zero in on the tone you want. The Frequency knob has an expansive range, giving you a low threshold of speaker-quaking 35Hz and a limit of 6kHz. This knob can also be controlled remotely using Stone Deaf's EP-1 expression pedal, giving you wah and phaser sounds without having to bend down and twist any knobs. The high-gain furnace of the Warp Drive is the Warp knob, which holds an incredible range of gain. A simple turn of the Warp control ranges from crunchy classic rock tones all the way through audience-pummeling death metal gain shards. A switchable Noise Gate feature keeps the hiss out when moving into high-gain territory, with a powerful knob to adjust the cutoff point. And just like all Stone Deaf pedals, the Warp Drive is hand built by tone-obsessed people in Manchester, UK.
