The Somersault is a versatile modulation device that allows everything from classic 80s chorus and wavering vibrato to bleeps and pitchy pulses. The secret to this wide range of sounds is the powerful, interactive controls that Caroline have provided. Top left is a Mix that goes from dry to 100% wet, for vibrato, rotary and damaged tape effects. Next is the Offset, which controls the delay time of the modulated signal. This powerful control, in conjunction with the Depth, allows for a wetter sounding chorus with hints of slapback as well as extreme pitch bending that goes beyond any traditional chorus pedal. The triangle wave is where are the classic modulation lives but roll over into the square wave and everything is chopped into rhythmic pulses, with random pitches and blips jumping out in time. The momentary Havoc footswitch warps you to maximum speed on any sound you’ve dialed in, whether it's a subtle Leslie sound or mechanical hiccup. Finally, the tasteful tone switch puts a Lo-Fi spin on the pedal, adding a vintage voice to the chorus but also taking more extreme settings down a notch. The Caroline Somersault is designed and made in Columbia, South Carolina by folks who just want to make cool stuff!
