I bought a Warmoth Strat neck of birdseye maple. Is this neck as good as it gets especially for the money? Find out in this close up review.
What you will learn:
How good is the quality?
Were the specifications correct?
Do the frets need work?
Is the wood properly dried?
Am I able to make choices of fret types?
Can I buy an unfinished neck?
Are there many wood choices?
Is there any guarantee?
What if something goes wrong?
Over the years I have made about six or seven guitars. Often Fender types (because they are easier to create successfully) and I have used genuine Fender parts either brand new, or from stripped Fender guitars, or alternatives that are Fender licensed from companies like Warmoth who are based in Seattle.
At first I was like most guys, a bit careful about buying from such a distance (I live in the UK) but I need not have been. The first neck I bought did have something to be desired regarding the fret ends and I had much work to correct those ends that were honestly not very well finished. But those sort of things are a thing of the past thankfully.
Since those times I have had excellent service from Warmoth (beginning in around 2010) and I have never had to send back a single item for any reason. I tend to buy the better components, but surprisingly Warmoth make things like guitar necks literally from about £100 (or $160) which is exceptional for the quality that you get.
This particular neck featured here cost $340, but I do also have to pay for shipping and for the UK's 20% tax thanks to being a member country of the EU... but not for long :).

I bought this neck and the video is completely unsponsored by anyone - these really are my own views based on buying the equipment personally.
