Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport. Today we're truckin' with the Mike Zito Peace Drive from Cast Engineering. The Peace Drive was designed alongside renowned blues guitarist Mike Zito with the goal of replacing an entire pedalboard worth of dirt boxes. Two separately footswitchable circuits are built into the Peace drive, with each assigned a color. The red side corresponds to the overdrive, which is a thick and chunky rock machine with more than enough gain on tap to punish a clean amp, or nudge one that's already dirty. The red side is engineered for stackability, and it plays nice with both the other side and any dirt placed before it. The green side gives you a harmonically-rich boost that contains both gain and volume controls to fine-tune the output to your liking. A pushbutton switch between the two cycles the order of the effects, so you can plug boost into drive or vice versa, which greatly opens up the tonal possibilities. When both effects are on, the Peace Drive declares war on your amp, giving it a boosted drive tone or a super-saturated fat lead tone that will make your amp wave the white flag. And just like all Cast Engineering pedals, the Peace Drive is made with love right here in the states.
