Commemorating their 60th anniversary, VOX Amplification is releasing a special edition of the legendary AC30. Engineered and built from the ground-up entirely in the United Kingdom, these amplifiers are completely hand-wired using only the finest available components.
By 1964 the British Invasion was well underway in America. Armed with catchy tunes and VOX amplifiers, the bands of this era changed popular music forever. No amplifier was more important to this new “sound of the longhairs” than the VOX AC30 Top Boost. The 60th Anniversary AC30 is VOX’s tribute this truly legendary amplifier.
Originally developed in 1959 for players looking for a louder, higher wattage option, the AC30 quickly became the go-to amplifier for professional players in the UK. When met with the demand for more control of the tone of these amps, particularly players looking to cut through the mix better, VOX developed the optional Top Boost circuit, a clever modification initially offered on the rear panel of the AC30. The "Top Boost" circuit soon came to be known as THE signature sound that is now synonymous with the AC30.
The 60th Anniversary AC30 is built in the tradition of 1964 AC30/6 and features a factory integrated Top Boost circuit on the Brilliant Channel. This six-input amplifier also includes the classic Normal and Vib-Trem channels to provide a full palette of vintage VOX tone for the discerning player..
