This guitar is an exquisite example of the renowned luthier John D’Angelico. D'Angelico’s Instruments represent the pinnacle of the art form for many, and are highly sought after by both collectors and enthusiast alike. This particular New Yorker (#1349) was the 22nd New Yorker built and was completed on June 23rd, 1938 for player Miller Stephens. Due to the quality of D’Angelico instruments and their relative scarcity, as he only build a total of 1164 instruments, these guitars are becoming more and more valuable as the years go on.
The guitar you hear in this video is this 1938 D'Angelico New Yorker played by Michael Minnis.
