Today, we're taking a drink from the Boonar by Dawner Prince Electronics. The Boonar multi-head drum echo is a no-holds-barred reimagining of the Binson Echorec, featuring a proprietary DSP that leaves no feature out. Six knobs adorn the Boonar for a fully-customizable Echorec experience. These six controls cover every facet of a vintage Echorec, from tone and repeat level knobs, to input control and swell controls. There's even a Drum Age control on the top of the pedal that lets users dial in the miscalibration of a well-used older unit, introducing all the lush modulation and quirks that go along with it. All four playback heads are accessible with the four illuminated push-button switches on the face of the unit, for 16 multi-dimensional combinations. Plus, the Drum Speed overcomes the original unit's limits with a versatile 40-1000ms delay range. The Swell footswitch siphons off signals from all four heads for a reverb-like tone that drips and swirls into beautiful self-oscillation. When opening up the Boonar, users will find a Dry Volume trimpot for matching the pedal to the incoming signal, as well as DIP switches to switch between True Bypass and Trails modes, as well as Vintage and Modern modes. Each Boonar is hand-crafted in Croatia and built to withstand the road much better than an actual Echorec.
