Fresh from the release of her recent Uncovered, a critically acclaimed collection of cover songs, Shawn Colvin stopped by the AG studio to perform a trio of songs: “I Used to Be a King,” from the Graham Nash album Songs for Beginners, Bruce Springsteen’s “Tougher Than the Rest,” from the Boss’ Tunnel of Love, and “That Don’t Worry Me Now,” her own tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Uncovered arrived just more than 20 years after Colvin’s first album of cover songs, Cover Girl. In addition to the Springsteen and Nash numbers, the new album includes renditions of works by John Fogerty, Tom Waits, Paul Simon, Neil Finn, Stevie Wonder, Robert Earl Keen, and Robbie Robertson, among others. David Crosby and Marc Cohn make guest appearances.
