If you're looking for Lindy's pickups: http://www.fralinpickups.com/order.asp
My first venture into the boutique pickup world went well with the Tom Anderson VA1 so I thought I would just go in all the way and get a full set. I've had my eye on Lindy's pickups for a long time now, he seems like a great guy from his demos, and I love the vibe of his pickups. It took me a little bit to re-EQ my amp as these pickups are a whole different ballgame than the Tex Mex's I had previously. They sound much better to my ear so far!
Very detailed and responsive, I may need to become a better player because these don't mask my mistakes. 2/4 are very quacky - I totally missed this sort of tone with my other pups. Great percusive qualities too, rakes and picking dynamics respond really well. Same to be said about volume/tone control - very responsive.
The bridge pickup does have Lindy's Bassplate installed for better bass response.
I'm running into my Frenzel 5E3 deluxe plus A/B-ing between both channels, then using the line out into my interface I apply a marshall 4x12 speaker simulation in Guitar Rig with some reverb as well. I also have a BYOC tubescreamer kicked on somewhere towards the middle. I don't remember right now, but its also possible that I had some MXR Carbon Copy delay going on early on. Its not much of a TS anymore though, too many mods to count.
Note - I have the master wide open on the Frenzel to get the 6L6's to smoke a little bit. The power in my apartment is pretty dirty and so with the amp working fairly hard some of that noise bleeds through. Don't attribute that noise to these single coils. They aren't silent - you will have typical 60hz hum, but they aren't the culprit of much of the noise you hear in the background. I've yet to figure out how to remedy that other than rewiring the entire building... :(
Oh and I promise I tuned up before I started, it came out a little halfway through, my dearest apologies to those who are driven up a wall because of out of tune gear demos.
