First introduced in 1959 at the NAMM Show, the Fender Jazzmaster was originally designed for highly-discerning jazz guitarists, however it quickly gained the attention of the surf rockers and rockers of the day. The new Fender American Original '60s Jazzmaster captures the original vibe and sound of the early Jazzmasters but with an updated 9.5" modern fretboard radius.
The maple neck is a '60s C shape, 25.5" scale and gloss nitrocellulose finish.
The '60s Jazzmaster features vintage tuners that match the original 6-saddle floating tremolo bridge (with lock button), resulting in an impressively versatile guitar. Vintage tones come courtesy of the wax-potted Pure Vintage '65 Jazzmaster single-coil pickups with AlNiCo 5 magnets, enamel-coated coil wire, fiber bobbins and cloth-covered output wire. Like the original, the pickups feature flush-mounted pole pieces.
The Fender American Original '60s Jazzmaster is available in Ocean Turquoise, 3-Color Sunburst and Olympic White.
