Welcome back to Friends Pick Friday! Today we have a new friend in the shop, Ben Cloud, who accompanied his dad on a trip here from Oklahoma to bring us some guitars. We heard him playing while hanging out in the shop and thought it would be a great fit for this week. Considering he's a D'Angelico man himself, he naturally gravitated toward the 1955 D'Angelico New Yorker! We had been testing out a stereo rig using a Strymon Blue Sky and a pair of Magnatone Twilighter amps so we figured a big reverb and some clean amp tones would work great for the New Yorker.
