We recently stopped by Milkman Sound headquarters to spend some time with their exciting new pedal-based guitar amplifier, The Amp. Based around a single 12AX7 preamp tube (running at full voltage), The Amp offers anywhere from 50 watts to 100 watts of performance, thanks to its Class D Power Amplifier section.
Tube-driven EQ, and on-board Reverb and Tremolo make this an incredibly versatile amp. Small enough to fit on a pedalboard, The Amp works in a variety of applications, from straight-ahead rock guitar to pedal steel, as demoed by Milkman's founder Tim Marcus.
The Amp provides plenty of flexibility, from the on-board headphone amp to the combo Speakon/1/4" speaker output to the XLR output for DI connectivity.
Even better? The Amp can be switched to pedal level output, so you can use it in-line with your pedals, offering an extra gain stage, gorgeous reverb and harmonically rich tremolo.
