Round 1: we mix'n'match bits of a classic Marshall and a Mesa/Boogie to hear what’s doing what
Welcome to the show. Please note your amp[s] need an effects loop to do this…
So then, ever wondered what one amp’s preamp might sound like through another amp’s power section? Or speaker? Or multiple combinations therein? Today we delve into that a little bit, following a conversation about slaving amps. The concept is simple enough – use your effects loop to separate the pre- and power amp sections of a couple of different amps and connect ’em up for new combinations. And then try different cabs too!
Let’s see what we learn… Enjoy the episode!
