The guitar in this video is a US built Floyd Rose Redmond Model 1, circa 2004. It has low to medium single coil pickups and is basically a very slick Strat.
The Providence HBL-3 Heat Blaster is a very versatile distortion. It can run the gamut from clean boost right through to aggressive, tube-like distortion. It feels like a tube amp to play.
Improvements over the last model (IMO) include a slightly faster attack and a throatier mids focus - both good things.
Providence are a Japanese company with very high standards. The highest. I endorse them fully and always look forward to their product releases as they are invariably fabulous.
This video was recorded with a Violet Design 'The Amethyst Standard' microphone placed dead centre about 3" away from the HIWATT's left speaker. Pro Tools 9 tracked the recording. On the Input Channel I added Waves' CLA Guitars plug for light compression and some room. On the Output Master I added Waves' L3-16 Limiter to keep levels in check.
Thanks for watching.
