The Walrus family band gets together again to showcase the new (and free) 2.0 firmware update. All gain is coming from the amp models in the ACS1. No other pedals were used for the guitars in this track!
The Mako Series ACS1 Amp+Cab Sim was first announced in January 2021. Since then we’ve had multiple updates based on customer feedback and today we’re incredibly excited to announce a huge update with Firmware version 2.0.
For firmware 2.0 you'll find:
• Improved tube-driven breakup. Higher gain and more saturation across all three amp models.
• New organic & and more lively IRs created by David Hislop and Kenyon Reed at Tone Factor that capture the feel and air movement using the actual Amps that the ACS1 is modeling.
• Enhanced Boost with up to +4dB more gain

*Note - To update, you’ll need a Micro USB data cable and a computer using a Chrome browser.
Amps used to capture the IRs:
Dartford - based on a 90’s UK-made AC30 6TB with Blue Alnicos
London - based on a Marshall JTM50 Tremolo Bluesbreaker 2x12 combo with UK-made 6402-cone G12M Greenbacks
Fullerton - based on a Vintage 1966 Fender Deluxe Reverb with its original Jensen C12NA

For this update, we completely rebuilt all three amp models from the ground up. Further pushing what the Sharc Processor can do, we’ve taken what we learned from the previous versions, feedback from customers, artists, beta-testers, and Reddit keyboard warriors to make an even closer replication of these beloved vintage amps. You’ll notice more gain and saturation, higher gain from the boost, improved filter cutoff frequencies, and more!
