Jazzmasters have been quite an enigma for me as a guitarist. As a Strat and Les Paul player, I could never quite get along with the tremolo system on a Jazzmaster-style guitar, nor could I understand the switching. I wanted to like these guitars, and certainly adored the sound that other people got playing them, but could never make one work for me. I’d spent the better part of 2023 playing as many vintage, Custom Shop, and boutique re-creations as I could in hopes that I’d find “THE ONE”, and I did! It’s the Novo Serus J.
