Landlord FX are a range of compact pedals with big sounds and a fun British bar room theme. Each pedal is made with an extremely sturdy metal chassis and they all feature True-Bypass switching, something of a coup considering how affordable they are!
Landlord pedals run off 9 volt mains power only: like lots of other compact mini stomp boxes, these are simply too small to accommodate two 1/4” jacks AND a 9v PP3 battery!
Landlord FX are a simple, affordable and enjoyable way to introduce fresh sounds and utilities to your pedalboard.
The innuendos continue with Landlord FX’s Frothy Head Echo pedal! This continues Landlord’s solidly built, great value range of mini pedals with irreverent pub-themed titles and graphics.
Underneath the cheekiness, however, lies an echo pedal with plenty of features to enjoy.
This is much more of a vintage echo for ambience and atmosphere than a modern, rhythmic delay. Dial in some subtle repeats and bring depth and space to your sound.
The Frothy Head has three modes: Dark, Lite and Reverse. The Dark Sound gave us the best results, bringing an almost analog-like tone to the repeats. We played with a clean tone, a mildly crunchy one and an aggressively distorted tone: the Frothy Head proved itself to be tasteful and complementary in each context.
The Reverse setting works well too and is nice to have as a fun curiosity.
We think the Landlord FX Frothy Head is a very agreeable and useful echo pedal. It’s a great choice for an inexpensive ‘go-to’ delay pedal and the reported 44.1kHz/24 bit technology means your signal will remain strong. For very little cash, you can add some great delay effects to your board.
