The WMD Fracture is a super versatile eurorack module capable of making sounds that range from analogue, xox style claps, to loose groups of people clapping together in a room, and much further into weirdness with it's Direct CV control and Oscillation capabilities.
In this video, we quickly demonstrate how to create a loose feeling, hip-hop-sample-like clap sound with the WMD Fracture. This sound is inspired by clap sounds you might hear on an old hip hop or funk record.
MPC, EMU 1200, and other great samplers allowed artists to make these sounds with sampling and resampling techniques. With the Fracture, you can make the same style sounds by dialing in the amount of people in the room, how "tight" they are to clapping with one another, and what they're holding in their hands. Get weird with pitch control and direct CV control.
