After perfecting his Tube Screamer circuit after 40 years with the discontinued Maxon Apex808, Mr. Tamura teamed up with guitarist/producer Roy Z (Halford, Bruce Dickenson) to combine the Apex808 with the fiery diodes of the Maxon OD808X Overdrive Extreme. The left footswitch enables you to togle between the classic Apex808 and Apex808X sounds with the push of a button. Combining the Apex808 with the clipping diodes of the Maxon OD808X makes the Chemical Z the perfect overdrive to achieve those sought after hard rock and metal tones—even into any Amp Sim!
