Chris Calcutt gave us the lowdown on the updated LaunchKey range from Novation,The refreshed line includes six models, each offering different features to suit various musical needs; the larger models feature semi-weighted waterfall keybed action, while the smaller ones offer mini formats.

The pads include both aftertouch and poly aftertouch capabilities (not the keys though). The controllers are deeply integrated with major DAWs like Ableton, Logic, and Cubase, providing high-level script control.

Notably, the new iteration adds encoders, enhancing fluidity in DAW usage. Other features include a novel sequencer mode mirroring Novation's Circuit approach, and a Chord Map with curated chord banks adjustable according to adventure level and scale. Novation Components further allow custom mapping and configuration, enhancing creative workflows significantly.
