I've been a massive SRV fan for years, he is the sole reason I got into electric guitar in the first place. Because of that massive respect I've been hesitant to directly cover something of his. It would pale in comparison in such an extreme way, I'd probably have to quit ;)

That said I've been messing with a 'SRV' tone in my POD HD500 and I think I've got something pretty good here. It features the new vibrato channel on the deluxe. Its cranked up pretty good, but with the bass backed off to keep it from getting squishy. I also have a tubescreamer set with the drive at 0 and the volume at 10 - just like SRV. I think it did a pretty good job of emulating his sounds. If only I could play like him...
