MOD Devices is a custom pedal/desktop platform for running effects and processing modules for custom signal paths, kind of like a virtual pedal board or hardware plug-in host. With MAX/Gen format modules. Many are available as free downloads from the growing community.
Set them up on the computer and send them over to the hardware for stand alone operation.
