Today we debut Sonic Origins, a new video series that seeks to unearth the underlying elements of artistic identity. The series kicks off with Oakland-based producer Russell E.L. Butler.
Here, Butler takes pause to reflect on ancestral inspirations, the interconnections of varied identity consciousnesses, and, ultimately, music as self-liberation.
For the filming of the first 'Sonic Origins', Russell incorporated four Mother-32's to construct a hard-hitting modular session titled "Sirens From a Distance". Listen to the full track here: https://soundcloud.com/moogmusicinc/russell-el-butler-sirens
