Went to have a quick talk to lead product designer at Catalinbread, Howard Gee about their new NAMM releases, and ended up spending almost 20min listening to him explain about how he perfectly replicated the legendary Echoplex preamp down to the tiniest details, to capture the real magic of this iconic tape delay. This has resulted in the Belle Epoch Deluxe, which takes the original Belle Epoch to a new level and the Epoch Pre, which takes the Echoplex preamp and furthers expands on its abilities.
On top of that he also demos their new Formula 55, which takes their former Tweed drive, Formula 5 and brings it to a whole new level of realism. This truly is a tweed amp in box!
Can't express how much respect and admiration we have for Howard and the rest of the Catalinbread team. When they do something, they go all in without any compromise. That's the true spirit of rock n roll, right there!
