Hearing protection and in-ear monitor company ACS were at the show, with their range of soft silicone offerings.
Way back last century when they first became available, I had a pair of custom-made protectors made while I was touring in an extremely loud band, but by then the damage was done, and I now have music-related hearing loss.
That truly sucks, folks - I know from personal experience how important it is to try to minimise your exposure to high sound levels, and protect your hearing.
Turns out Jono Heale had a similar experience, which is how he came to retrain in the area of noise safety, and ended up joining ACS.
I had a long chat with him and he went through the ACS range of both in-ear monitors and filter-based protectors, which offer a range of dB reduction and filter characteristics for different applications. You can swap out filters too, so as long as you have your custom mould, you can fit whatever you need - neat.
Having just filmed at a very loud gig a couple of nights previously, I took the opportunity of the at-show discount to purchase a new pair of protectors (I went for the extreme 27dB filter).
My moulds were made there & then, but ACS have also partnered with a number of organisations to provide an impression taking service - if you're in the UK you can go to any Boots chemist with a hearing centre, for example.
