If anybody is wondering what a Jim Kelley Line amp (only 15 made) is – here is an explanation:
Overdrive sound of the Jim Kelley Single-Channel and FACS amps:
- First stage is kept very clean
- Power section is hit hard to achieve the beautiful and smooth Jim Kelley gain
- To adjust the volume you most likely need an attenuator :)
Overdrive sound of the Jim Kelley Line amp:
- First stage is kept very clean
- Inbuilt push-pull output section with an additional 12AX7 – signal sent “Line” back to the power section
- Power section can kept low and still get some nice Jim Kelley gain
- Sound will get into tone nirvana when combined with hitting the power section
- To adjust the volume you might need an attenuator :)
